Tips

Heavenly Blue Morning GlorySoon it will be time to plant the seeds for our annual vines.  We like to plant Heavenly Blue morning-glories, white Moonflowers and magenta Hyacinth Beans.  We saved bean seeds from the pods last fall and now must remember where we put them.  The other seeds are readily available in garden centers.  Nicking the morning-glory seeds and soaking them over night, enables them to germinate more quickly.

This is a good time to get out and finish all those clean-up chores.  Because our back yard is a wildlife habitat, we leave the seed pods from many of our perennials so the birds can enjoy them during the winter.  Now we have to get all that dead plant material picked up before the new growth appears.
